Pivot-Ed: Translating Executive Vision into a $1M Reality
Pivot-Ed was born as a high-level concept from the President and CEO of Bow Valley College — a visionary approach to using AI for competency-based adult education. As the Senior Communications Strategist, I was responsible for taking this complex, abstract idea and architecting the strategic plan and narrative required to make it tangible and "funding-ready."
My Strategic Impact
-
Concept Translation: I led the project kick-off, taking the CEO's initial ideas and distilling them into an easy-to-understand narrative. I bridged the gap between high-level theory and the practical language needed to engage corporate stakeholders.
-
Funding-Ready Strategy: I developed the comprehensive plan and materials specifically designed to seek and secure major external investment. This included crafting the compelling case for support that resonated with national partners.
-
Full-Scale Project Coordination: I served as the central coordinator for all project needs, managing the "tech-to-creative" pipeline. This included overseeing the development of the website, promotional materials, graphics, and brand identity.
-
High-Velocity Delivery: Directed a specialized 12-day turnaround for the IBM partnership project, ensuring
all creative assets and timelines were met to lock in
critical support.
Key Results & Partnerships
-
$1M+ Partnership Secured: My strategic narratives and project management were instrumental in securing a landmark funding agreement with RBC, establishing a partnership that has since surpassed $1M in lifetime giving.
-
IBM Strategic Alliance: Successfully facilitated the entry of IBM as a core partner, ensuring the program's technical framework was supported by global industry leaders.
-
The Launch of Pivot-Ed Academy: My foundational work in website coordination and promotional strategy paved the way for the Pivot-Ed Academy, which now offers assessment-first credentials in Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and Software Development.
-
Stakeholder Buy-In: Developed the engagement materials used by executive leadership to pitch the initiative, ensuring the complex AI-driven model was accessible and persuasive to diverse audiences.
